HOME FROM HOME

Although there’s so much to do in the area, Arrowdale is a destination in itself.  It is a wonderfully tranquil and comfortable place to be if you feel like having an ‘at home’ day.  The kitchen has more than enough equipment (including a Weber barbecue) for keen cooks to make something special, or there's always Freeview or Netflix on the smart tv and a selection of indoor games to entertain you.

PRIVATE GROUNDS WITH SHORELINE, and a DESERTED BEACH

You don't need to jump in your car to have unforgettable experiences.  One of the most special things about Arrowdale is the stunning outdoor spaces. These extend to over eight acres around the house, and considerably more land across the water from the house. The garden is dog-friendly.  It is safe and private and there are lots of outdoor games provided, including (but not limited to) giant jenga, croquet and boules.  You can also safely store and launch your own kayaks or paddle boards or moor a small dinghy less than 100 yards from the front door on the house's private shoreline.  From the end of July 2022 there will be two tandem kayaks (and life jackets) available for your sole use (there is no charge for this)* so that you can head out to sea whenever the mood takes you. The shingly beach is great for an early morning sea swim, throwing sticks for your dog, or just pottering about.  You can wander through the birch woodland filled with mossy rocks and ferns, and explore the winding coastal path. You will be spoiled for choice for a secluded picnic spot, somewhere to read your book, or paint. For the ultimate picnic spot, however, there's a lovely deserted sandy beach which will take you about 30 minutes to kayak to, or an hour or so to walk to via deer paths through beautiful protected ancient oak woodland.

OPEN PLAN KITCHEN/DINING/LIVING

This open plan room is so dominated by the huge picture window that you may not even notice the well equipped kitchen the first you walk in.  As elsewhere at Arrowdale, all is fitted out with care and attention to quality, comfort and practicality.  There's a spotting scope set up so by the big window too so you can enjoy seeing the local wildlife close up.

PATIO and THE GARDEN

Accessed directly from the kitchen, it’s a great spot for breakfast, a coffee or a barbecue.  There are lovely views of the sea, and you may well see a nosy seal popping its head above the water as boats glide by.  It’s close enough to the lawn that you can keep an eye on the children if they’re playing there too.

MASTER BEDROOM

This lovely calming room has a comfortable king sized bed, a built in wardrobe and under floor heating.

MASTER BATHROOM

The en suite has generous storage for all of your things, a heated towel rail, a heated, illuminated mirror and a powerful shower (with additional fixed shower head) over a generously sized bath.

BEDROOMS 2 & 3

These charming twin rooms have built in cupboards and a sloping roof.  Both have traditional radiators but the house is so well insulated that it’s unlikely you’ll need them.

BATHROOM

This shared bathroom has a heated towel rail and underfloor heating.  There’s plenty of storage and the bath has a hand shower attachment for hair washing, or for getting the sand off your feet before bed…

LAUNDRY

There's a washing machine, a tumble drier and an overhead pulley for those days when you can’t dry your washing outside.  You’ll also find insulated picnic baskets, picnic rugs and beach towels so you can save your precious luggage space for other things.

HEATING & HOT WATER

Heating is via air source heat pump, and there’s plenty of hot water capacity.  In the Laundry area there’s a cupboard where you’ll find basic cleaning materials and an iron should you need them.  There's also a drying cupboard where you can dry your waterproofs overnight so everything is ready for your next adventure.
